Darren Bent insists that newly-promoted PL side should sign this Spurs man

Former Spurs striker, Darren Bent has urged Leeds United to go all out to sign their former left-back Danny Rose this summer.

The Englishman’s future at Spurs is under serious question after returning from his short-term loan at Newcastle United come the end of the 2019/20 season.

Rose has one year left on his deal with Spurs but the full-back has been linked with a permanent move away from the Lilywhites this summer, with Leeds a possible suitor (Daily Star).

Since making the switch to Tyneside in January, Rose made 11 Premier League appearances for Steve Bruce’s side (Transfermarkt).

Bent spoke to Football Insider this week to express his desire for the newly-promoted Leeds to go all out and bring Rose back to the club he began his career with.

Bent said: “Rosey, he’s had a couple of injuries but we’ve seen him on the pitch more often than not so I’m all for that one, I’d go out and try to get him, if I’m honest.

“The Leeds fans will love him, he came through the youth system and was brilliant, he wants to go back home and it’s a match made in heaven because I honestly don’t believe that Leeds are going to struggle, I think they’ll be okay.

“For me, that would be a perfect one, he’s said he wants to be closer to home as he gets older in age so that would be perfect – four-year deal, there you go.”

Despite saying that he would see his contract out at Spurs, Rose has not been shy to admit he would be happy to stay at Newcastle in the future. However, the Toon are looking like they will face competition from Leeds for the left-back’s signature. With all of his experience, Rose would be a great signing for the newly-promoted side who will be looking to maintain their Premier League status for years to come. However, I expect that Rose will want a slightly bigger move this summer.
