Davies welcomes return of injured trio

Speaking to Sky Sports, Ben Davies hopes Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks will give us the edge in this weekend’s north London derby against Arsenal.

All three sat out friendlies against Germany and Brazil during the international break with Kane and Alli suffering from hamstring injuries, while Winks missed the goalless draws with an ankle problem.

However the article adds that all are all expected to be fit for Tottenham’s Premier League trip to Arsenal.

“The boys have had a few niggles here and there,” Davies said. “Sometimes these friendlies can be one game too much with the programme coming up.
“If it means they are fresh for us on the weekend then we can be happy for that.”

It adds how we of course trail runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City by eight points and that is not lost on Davies. “City are a top side and have set the benchmark this year,” added the defender.

“Now we have to be on top and clinical in every game. We have to try and keep picking up the points to catch them.”

The article adds how Davies will not be at the 2018 World Cup following Wales’ failure to qualify for the tournament however the 24-year-old defender expressed his delight that Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen will be in Russia next summer. Davies said:”Chris is phenomenal for us, he dictates the play and gets us going,”

Davies added:”For me it is no surprise to see him scoring. He’s a player who deserves to be at a World Cup.”
