Dele looking for big move believes Wright

According to an article in The London Evening Standard Ian Wright says Dele Alli is not on the hunt for a new agent just to get a new contract, but that he wants a big move.

The article describes how the 21-year-old decided to split with agent Rob Segal earlier this season and is yet to appoint a permanent successor, though there have been suggestions that his situation off the pitch is damaging his form on the pitch.

It has been well documented that the England midfielder has struggled to hit the heights we’ve seen him reach in previous seasons so far this term, and former Arsenal star turned pundits Wright claims that before he looks to land a big agent and subsequent move, he must focus on his football.

“It is a very, very important time for Dele,” Wright said on BBC Radio 5 live.”He has got to be focusing on football even when he is not playing football to get himself back to the level he was at.

Wright added “The other day he was like a shadow of what we know he can do. When you start getting agents like Jorge Mendes you are not getting those agent to renegotiate contacts.

“You are getting those agents to move you somewhere, move you big, so he has got to be playing at a consistent level [to show] why he would go get an agent like that.”

Appointing his adopted brother may have helped but he still doesn’t have the demeanour of a lad enjoying his football. So do we agree with Wrights take on it, is his mind elsewhere. Bar the Madrid match he’s not been anywhere near good enough. Certainly a worry.
