Dele On New Signing Sanchez

Spurs star Dele Alli has revealed that he believes new signing Davinson Sanchez can drastically improve the team, following Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea yesterday.

The 21 year old Colombian joined Spurs last week on a 6 year deal form Ajax for a fee rumoured to be roughly £42 million, which would be a new record for the club.

Despite being Tottenham’s only new signing so far in the current transfer window, which closes in little under 2 weeks, Spurs midfielder Dele Alli is confident the youngster’s arrival will improve the team.

Speaking after Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, Dele said of the defender:

“It’s a positive step, I think we’ve got a strong side at the minute anyway so any player that the gaffer and the chairman thinks is going to help the squad can only be a positive.”

“Competition is always good so I’m sure the players at the back will be working hard to try and keep their places and he’ll be coming in and trying to fight for his place.”

“If everyone’s trying and everyone’s playing well it can only be a positive effect on the team.”

Turning his attention to the poor result at Wembley, Dele was quick to insist that the team had plenty of positives to take away for the season ahead.

“It was a good performance from us overall,” He added. “But a few little errors that we need to make sure we cut out.”

“We hear a lot of talk about it being about Wembley but as players we know it’s nothing to do with that. Things just didn’t go our way today and we just got to make sure we put things right.”

Tottenham’s next Wembley opponents are Burnley, who stunned Chelsea last week, beating the Blues 3-2 at Stamford Bridge.
