Dembele: Next Season Will Be Just As Good As The Last

Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele has come out in support of Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer philosophy, claiming that the current squad is capable of great success as it is.

So far, Tottenham are the only team in the Premier League not to make a signing, though a few players have departed the club.

Facing a number of questions over Tottenham’s lack of signings, Pochettino explained how Tottenham are very ‘calm’ amidst the rivaling Premier League clubs’ comparative frantic and panicked spending, just last week.

Recently, Danish play-maker Christian Eriksen spoke highly of the Tottenham’s strength and determination, reiterating Pochettino’s appraisal of the squad in his defence of Spurs’ transfer business in the current transfer window.

In similar fashion, fan-favourite Mousa Dembele has now also taken his turn to defend Tottenham’s transfer business, claiming that Spurs are set for another impressive Premier League season, which starts up in August. All the way from Orlando, he said:

“We concentrate on the team we have now. If the team stays like this, we know that we’re going to have a good season like last year. The quality we have now; everybody is looking in the same direction.”

“We’re very positive,” He added. “For us it’s like a family. It’s a very good thing to have a group that stays together and understands each other as well.”

“The first year with the manager was different because it was a new philosophy, and now the last two years everybody understands what he means, everybody knows what to do.”

Dembele started in Tottenham’s 4-2 win over PSG on Saturday, in his first game since undergoing an operation on his left foot.

The sight of Dembele driving through the French midfield is a welcome sight indeed, as keeping players like Mousa Dembele fit and injury-free will be crucial to any potential success next season.
