“Difficult to take”: Trippier on Juventus defeat

Tottenham full back Kieran Trippier couldn’t hide his disappointment at last nights result saying our Champions League exit to Juventus was “a difficult one to take.”

The lads gave themselves real hope when they fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in Turin, securing two precious away goals, however after Son Heung-Min’s opener at Wembley, Argentine duo Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala struck twice in under three minutes to break Spurs hearts.

“We had a lot of chances in the first half and put in a great performance. It’s a difficult one to take,”:Trippier told BBC Radio 5 Live.

Trippier added: “Juventus changed their formation and they had a lot of the ball, we just need to settle down a little bit.The lads are gutted because of the way we started the game. It’s a tough one to take.
“We wanted to come out fast in the second half, but they killed the tempo out of the game.”
