Eriksen in a “good place” following Swansea victory

Christian Eriksen said he was ‘in a very good place’, after he was again instrumental role in helping us earn a place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a comfortable 3-0 win at Swansea.

The Dane scored twice in what turned out to be a routine win. His first was a terrific curling effort beyond the reach of Kristoffer Nordfeldt in the Swansea goal on eleven minutes and then Erik Lamela doubled our advantage seconds before the break to put the us in control of the tie before Eriksen struck again to round off the easy win.

This is the second year running Spurs have made the semi-finals of the competition and with the national stadium being our temporary home this year Eriksen said it would be fun to play at Wembley for a different meaning. He said: “We started very well and there were goals and some good football so it was nice to play today”: he said

“I’m in a very good place. I’m not sure if it’s my best form, I hope there’s something more to reach.Of course I’m happy with the way I am, the way the team is and which direction we’re going in, and now with the semis coming up it’s going to be fun to play at Wembley in a different meaning.

He added: “It will be weird because it is our home stadium now for the season. But it’s an FA Cup so it won’t only be our fans in the stadium, so it will be fun to play.”

Meanwhile Swans boss Carlos Carvalhal claimed there was a noticeable difference between the two teams. He said: “We understand the difference between the teams, it is very clear. For a team like us to win this game, two things must happen: we must be at our best level and Tottenham must have a bad day.

“It was difficult for us to fight against them this afternoon.
“We are happy with our run in the cup but after this, we focus on our main competition and that is the Premier League.”
