With the Rugby League Challenge Cup final due to take place on the 26th of August, Tottenham’s rescheduled home match against Burnley has been confirmed to take place on Sunday the 27th of August with a 4pm kick off.

Additionally, a number of other fixtures have been altered in light of the Premier League broadcasting selection process picking out 5 of Spurs’ opening games for coverage.

In a statement uploaded to Tottenham’s official website, the details of the alterations were announced as such:

“Newcastle United (A) – now Sunday 13 August, kick-off 1.30pm – live on Sky Sports

Chelsea (H) – now Sunday 20 August, kick-off 4pm – live on Sky Sports

Swansea City (H) – remains Saturday 16 September, kick-off now 5.30pm – live on BT Sport

West Ham United (A) – remains Saturday 23 September, kick-off now 12.30pm – live on Sky Sports

Huddersfield Town (A) – remains Saturday 30 September, kick-off now 12.30pm – live on Sky Sports”

Football.London reported on large discontent following the news of these fixture changes, with many Spurs fans reacted negatively to the announcement on Social Media.

Many of the Spurs faithful were highlighting the Sunday morning away trip to Newcastle and the early Saturday kick off at huddersfield in a Champions League week as particularly unfair.
