Former Spurs defender backs Kane to be England’s talisman

According to The Mirror Tottenham defender Kyle Walker reckons Harry Kane can be England’s answer to Sergio Aguero.

Walker bagged Premier League title and a Carabao Cup winning medals for Manchester City last season, with Argentine star Aguero hitting the net 30 times during a campaign in which he became the club’s record goalscorer.

Walker saw Kane come through the ranks at Tottenham and now he’s backing him to become the nation’s talisman at the World Cup after his double to down Tunisia in the opening game.

Kane will again lead Gareth Southgate’s men into battle against Panama on Sunday and Walker said: “I’ve played with Aitch since he was 15.I remember he used to come up for first-team training at Tottenham sometimes, then you wouldn’t see him for a couple of weeks, and he’s always been a finisher.

He added: “Have I played with anyone like him? Probably Kun Aguero comes close.Harry is that good. You put him in the box and he’s deadly, as he has proved, season in and season out for the last three years now.”

Kane now has 15 goals in 25 games for England and will be hoping to add to that tally against Panama
