I try not to get excited with transfer speculation but the news that we’re apparently keen on signing Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze certainly did get the blood rushing to the nether regions.
According to German newspaper, Bild, Spurs met with Gotze’s father during Germany’s Euro 2016 campaign on two occasions to discuss a possible move to White Hart Lane.
His former club Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen on bringing the 24-year-old back to the Westenfalenstadion and Gotze apparently told his German team-mates that he would be making a decision on his future shortly.
Gotze has failed to set the world alight at Bayern which has seen him have limited playing time during his three seasons with the German champions, which is the catalyst for why he’s looking to move on. Time will now tell if he will switch the Bundesliga for the Premier League.
