It took him a couple of attempts but Harry Kane eventually joined the 100 club for Premier League goals after his dramatic last-gasp penalty earned a point for Tottenham against Liverpool.

An an article in The Mirror describes how Kane held his nerve to hit the back of the net after missing an earlier penalty, which would have given Spurs a 2-1 lead.

It adds how the forward said he was desperate for a reprieve after his tame effort was saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius before Mohamed Salah scored to put Liverpool ahead in the 91st minute.Kane, who scored his 22nd goal of the season as well as his 100th Premier League goal in 141 appearances, told Sky Sports: “I was praying. You don’t expect to especially when it’s deep into stoppage time but thankfully I got the second chance and I’m delighted to get my 100th goal in the Premier League.

He added: “It’s great to be in that 100 club.It was nice to get something out of the game after a roller coaster of emotions.”

Sportswear giants Nike unveiled its special-edition Nike Hypervenom 3 HK boots, which will be worn by Kane in his next match with just 100 pairs of boots, designed in the star’s favourite white and blue colours, available to buy on the club website.
