Serie A giants Juventus believe they can beat Tottenham to the signing of Matthijs de Ligt by offering forward Moise Kean in return.

The Italian champions are keen to snare the talented Ajax defender De Ligt this summer as they want a new centre-back with Daniele Rugani set to join Chelsea and they see the Dutchman as an ideal replacement.

Spurs hold a longstanding interest in the 18-year-old and have been watching him for a number of months however according to news outlet Tuttosport, Juve believe they can win the race for De Ligt and have an ace up their sleeve.

The Serie A side are ready to offer Italy youth international Kean as part of the deal and Ajax are said to be interested

Kean, who is eligible for the Ivory Coast, is one of the hottest prospects in European football and he has been tipped for big things.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Interesting approach by Juventus- trying to acquire quality by dumping players they don’t want. The difficulty is that there is no indication that the team they want to deal with has any desire for the player they are trying to trade Compare this to Man U who have many rejects in their roster but are reluctant to offer them to other teams for players that they want. Both approaches stem from an attitude of superiority and entitlement which is totally unjustified. Both approaches will fail.
