Kane could be tempted by Madrid believes former United hero

According to the Daily Mirror Ryan Giggs believes Gareth Bale’s success at Real Madrid could persuade Harry Kane to leave Tottenham.

Former Spurs star Bale has won three Champions League titles since swapping north London for the Spanish capital as well as La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

The article describes how Kane continues to be linked with an exit from Spurs having established himself as one of Europe’s premier strikers adding how he is top of the Premier League goal charts once again this term and snatched a last-gasp equaliser at Anfield against Liverpool at the weekend.

And like his compatriot Bale,Giggs believes Kane may be looking abroad when he finally leaves his boyhood club.: “When a player goes to a team where they are going to be competing for leagues and trophies then you go up another level, but winning things with a club where you’ve come through the ranks is different and more special, so you’d prefer to do that, especially with a brilliant manager and the new stadium coming,” Giggs told Sky Sports.

He added: “He (Kane) might also be looking abroad, and maybe seeing what Gareth Bale has achieved in winning three Champions League titles with Real Madrid.”

The article goes on to say that Giggs was speaking after Wayne Rooney appeared as a guest on Monday Night Football and talked about Kane in which the former Manchester United star suggested the striker should be given the England captaincy for the summer’s World Cup in Russia, and Manchester United legend Giggs concurred. “I agreed with Wayne’s (Rooney) suggestion that Harry Kane should be England captain,” he added “I think he had the armband against Scotland and scored the crucial equaliser so it doesn’t affect how he plays. He may not be the most vocal of players but he leads by example.

Giggs added: “It was also interesting what Wayne said about Tottenham having an interesting few years ahead of them. I’m a big fan of Mauricio Pochettino and what is happening at Tottenham and they’ve got to push towards winning the title.”
