Kane turned down Madrid because of Ronaldo

According to The Express Harry Kane turned down a move to Real Madrid because of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The article describes how Kane penned a six-year extension with Tottenham last week, putting to bed any rumours of a move to Real Madrid but according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the England Captain only rejected a switch to the Bernabeu because of Ronaldo.

The article goes on to say that Kane wants to be the main man in the central striker position but that would not be the case if he left Spurs as Ronaldo has made that position his own since moving from a winger to a striker over recent years as he reaches the twilight of his career.

Depite speculation of Ronaldo leaving Real, Kane did not want to join Los Blancos, Don Balon add with Kane supposedly convinced that nobody would gamble to sign the 33-year-old on such high wages, so he will now stay in north London for the foreseeable future.

The article concludes by saying Tottenham have always expressed their desire to keep Kane at the club and they can now kick on with their own summer recruitment plans following the announcement of Kane’s new long term deal.
