Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka, 25, has turned down a move to Roma in order to join either Liverpool or Tottenham, according to the Sunday Express.

The winger is available on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign. He nearly joined Liverpool but the move broke down at the last minute due to financial differences.

Mauricio Pochettino is know to be in the market for a new wide man, with our longest-serving player Aaron Lennon set to leave the club before the end of the transfer window. Hull City are said to be front runners for the England international.

Konoplyanka told his official YouTube video channel: “Yes, Roma were interested in me, but I refused them. Perhaps they will be disappointed but that’s life and that’s football.

“Last time with Liverpool was different. I wanted to go there but the clubs could not agree terms [with each other].

“My goal as a child was to play in England. The leagues are stronger and I still want to try my hand there.”

  1. This player would be a fantastic signing for Spurs. He would add so much quality to our team. Don't miss this one Spurs. His transfer fee is a real bargain. Please make him a priority signing Daniel!

  2. We need some new faces to freshen up the squad and give us good options until the summer. When MP can review the situation and his future plans. I really hope a proven attacker is brought in to support Harry K, as the current two are just a waste of time. Also some fresh ideas with wide players now that Aaron looks like he's going?

We desperately need quality cover and options to win a trophy and or finish in the T4 for Champ's footy next year.

  3. he is perfect for our set up. he can play on the left right or the number 10 role. he ripped us apart last season in both games he play against us. he's not scared to use his weak foot. tracks back well scores goals don't give the ball away cheaply. what more you want . and all that for a measly 5 million in todays transfer market. no brainer, lets wait and see if our chairman wakes up and get this deal done, because if he keeps snoozing on this player someone else will sign him up. maybe one of our rivals. GET IT DONE DANIEL.
