Mahrez the type of player Spurs should sign according to BBC Pundit

According to the Leicester Mercury BBC pundit Danny Murphy has called on Tottenham to try to sign Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

The article says this is not the first time that the former England midfielder has suggested that the 26-year-old Algerian should leave the King Power Stadium.

The article adds that in the part Murphy said that Mahrez was now “too good” to play for Leicester and that his “latest outburst” came during his analysis of our 2-1 defeat to the Foxes where Mahrez scored Leicester’s second goal with a trademark curling shot from outside the box just before half-time.

Murphy speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day: “He is just the type of player Tottenham should sign. He offers something different, the ability to go by players. It is something Tottenham are lacking.”

The article adds that our former midfielder was criticised over his comments after City had beaten Brighton at the King Power Stadium early this season. Back then, Murphy said: “I say this risking criticism but he’s too good for Leicester now.

Murphy added “He’s playing so well, with such confidence, skill and creativity he needs a bigger stage. And he needs to play with better players to see how good he can become
“He’s had a fairytale at Leicester and they’ve done tremendously well and given him the platform.
“But he should be playing regularly in the Champions League and showing us his talents.”

So is Murphy right, is Mahrez the type of player we need and would he fit in to Mauricio Pochettino’s system. Let us know your thoughts
