Napoli stars agent refutes Tottenham link

The agent of Napoli’s Amadou Diawara’s refutes claims linking Tottenham with a move for his client saying: “I don’t know who’s putting out destabilising rumours at such a delicate moment in Napoli’s season”.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport claimed yesterday that the their pursuit of Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira would see 20-year-old Diawara make the move to England, with the fee rumoured to be around €25m.

“I don’t know who’s putting out
such destabilising rumours at such a delicate moment in Napoli’s season,” Daniele Piraino fumed, speaking to RAI Sport.
“I don’t know who’d be interested in doing that.

He added: “The release clause? It doesn’t exist, not for Italy nor for foreign countries. It hasn’t been looked at and there’s no negotiation with Tottenham, with English teams or any team in Europe.

He went on to say: “Diawara is very happy at Napoli, he has three years on his contract and he’s focused.
“He’s very happy with the city, with the fans, with the environment and indeed everything, he’s totally focused on Napoli and the fight for the Scudetto, he hopes to find space in the final sprint.

“Torreira? It’s more of a problem for [Coach Maurizio] Sarri, he’d have an alternative and he’d have to choose between three midfielders to start, not just two.But it’s certainly not a problem for Amadou.”
