Newport’s Kane plan

Newport County, our opponents in the FA Cup 4th round have a special plan to stop Harry Kane according to an article by ESPN.
The article describes how only a year ago, Newport County were struggling at the bottom of league two, staring relegation (and probable liquidation) in the face and now they’re preparing to face Tottenham in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The article adds how it is certainly not going to be easy for the Welsh side who, among other things, will be forced to contend with Harry Kane, a striker in the form of his life with 26 goals to his name already this season.

However it does say that it’s not as if Newport haven’t been working on a game plan, with manager Michael Flynn admitting he’s willing to adopt fairly extreme measures [in jest of course, we think!!!] to nullify the Spurs hotshot.

Flynn was asked how he planned to deal with Kane’s ever-present goal threat, and he grinned wryly as he told BBC Wales: “Maybe a machine gun and a couple of axes?”

Perhaps heavy artillery might be the only way to stop our goal hero when we visit Rodney Parade, let’s just hope he gets a few shots that hit the target first
