Not Britain: The Country with the most Spurs fans on Facebook

According to an article in The Daily Star, Social media research agency Newton Insight have released a new report into the performance of Premier League clubs on social media.

Within their findings is a breakdown of Facebook fans by country for each team. Information was collected at the end of December 2017, when the club had around 8.7million fans on Facebook – making us the sixth most popular team in the Premier League.

However the report did find that the UK is not as it goes the country with the most Spurs fans, despite the glaringly obvious fact that is where the club play.

In fact, the top 10 nations for supporters of our famous old club includes five Asian, two African, one South American, one North American and only one European country. The list makes interesting reading. It reads from 1-10 as:

1. Indonesia 672,135
2. Great Britain 499,347
3. Brazil 476,233
4. Egypt 475,752
5. Thailand 418,563
6. Algeria 339,439
7. Vietnam 310,674
8. Mexico 294,005
9. India 290,341
10. Malaysia 239,369
