Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has told Tottenham that they have no chance of signing Wilfried Zaha.

Parish publically revealed Spurs had tabled their opening offer on Thursday but that Palace had immediately knocked back the approach.

“We had a bid from Spurs but £2m – it’s ridiculous. I can’t imagine that they’re serious,” Parish told TalkSport.

“There’s no chance whatsoever of Wilfried Zaha leaving the club in this transfer window. I can absolutely reassure every Palace fan he is an integral part of our plans.

“We’ve told Spurs that there is really no point bidding for him because he is going nowhere – 100 per cent guaranteed.”

Zaha is understood to be desperate to leave, with the 23-year-old eager to play under Mauricio Pochettino and test himself in the Champions League.

“It’s not right really that players get their heads turned,” Parish said. “I was told that the manager there thinks he’s the next Ronaldo. Well I’d like to get the next Ronaldo for B#12m.

“We need to convince Wilfried that Palace is the right place for him and that he can succeed here.”

Parish added: “I haven’t spoken to the player. The manager and the player might have had a conversation but I’m chairman of the football club.

“I decide who leaves and he’s not leaving. He’ll have to get his head around that.”

  1. Parish is a large milk laden breast. Let's recap a couple or three things. 1 they sold Zaha to United for 15 million, but him back for 5 million, last season he had 2 assists and 1 goal to his name (wow shiver me timbers) and Parish thinks a 150% profit at 12 million is an insult. …..GIANT MILK LADEN TIT. 2. did he complain about Everton for unsettling Bolasie while he was mugging them for north of 25 million? GIANT MILK LADEN TIT

  2. TBH I don't think he's worth much more. As a manure reject he's shown glimpses of what he's capable of at Palace, but doesn't score enough goals. Move on.

  3. Lets be honest, most if not all Chairmen speak with forked tongues. If the player really wants to leave, he will eventually get his way and if the Crystal Palace Chairman thinks that he could f**k over Daniel Levy, he'd better think again. It's all bravado to apease the Palace fans really and I could understand that.

  4. Having said all that do we actually want him? Mason is off to Hull so it would appear. We do need an injection of pace up top though.
