Pochettino deserves trophy believes former Spurs star

Mauricio Pochettino, deserves a trophy to mark our progress since his arrival, claims former club left-back Christian Ziege.

The Argentine tactician took over at White Hart Lane in May 2014 and has since made he genuine silverware contenders.

We had an eventful Champions League journey, which included a home victory over holders Real Madrid, and it was just halted by Juventus, whilst we are on track for a third consecutive finish in the Premier League top four.

With such unity, promise and progress on the field, Ziege has been swept up in the wave of optimism surrounding Spurs.
“It’s an exciting time for the club. They have the new stadium on the way, They have been challenging, fighting at the top of the Premier League for the past couple of seasons. They’ve been really close and have done a really good job in the Premier League,”:Ziege told BT Sport.

“Now they’re in the Champions League they’ve impressed me even more. They went out against a top team and were really unlucky. They were the better team over the two legs and still lost.”

We’ve made steady progress under Pochettino however Ziege maintains that winning a single Cup could provide the platform for sustained silverware success for Spurs.

“He’s (Pochettino) is doing a fantastic job, for him personally, he deserves one,”:declared Ziege.
“It must be hard to take if you play that kind of football, do so well In the Premier League, progress in the Champions League and do well in the FA Cup, but still don’t end the season with a trophy.
“If you can win a trophy it gives an extra bit if of confidence. It would be perfect for him and everyone at Spurs.”
