Pochettino dismisses book claims, thanks media for promoting it

Mauricio Pochettino has poured scorn on claims that the publication of his book may well the root of Tottenham’spoor form recently, and thanked the media for increasing the publicity.

An article in The London Evening Standard adds that We have won just one Premier League game in five since the publication of ‘Brave New World’, Guillem Balague’s book featuring insights from Pochettino, chairman Daniel Levy and a number of players.

The article points to the fact that before the release of the book We had picked up 20 points from nine games, but have managed just four since – losing to Arsenal, Manchester United and Leicester while drawing against West Brom.

However Pochettino was in bullish mood, saying all the talk around the book can only help its cause.

“Look when the book appears, different quotes about my book, we beat Real Madrid and Liverpool and we had unbelievable results,” the Spurs boss said.

“First of all I want to say thank you to the people that write this story because it’s more publicity for my book.

He added: “We are going to help more people because all the money is going to charity. Thank you for thjis, in this period that is coming at Christmas, we can help more people if we sell more books.”

The the article adds that Poch also refuted claims that writing a candid book could have a negative effect on his playing squad.
He added: “No. It’s a risk when you lie. If you tell the truth why?
“It was a very honest book that was involved with the club for a very good thing. I think it’s an amazing book because for you to read when happens throughout a season at a professional club it’s a great opportunity to get a better idea that it’s not only about playing football.
