Mauricio Pochettino this weekend hailed his troops 1-0 win over Crystal Palace as a great way to end the perfect week according to an article on talkSPORT.
In a huge week where we put European Champions Real Madrid to the sword, Pochettino’s men turned their attention back to Premier League matters as the bottom-of-the-table Eagles travelled to Wembley.
Lowly Palace put in a resilient performance against an injury hit Spurs but a terrific second half strike from Son Heung-min was enough for us to grab all three points
Speaking after the game the article says Pochettino insisted the three points were the most important thing “It was fantastic to finish that way, now we go into the international break,” said the Argentine tactician.
Pochettino added “What is so important is the three points.
“After a great, amazing game against Real Madrid it is always so difficult to keep focused, be professional and win games.
He continued “Today I am so delighted because the performance was fantastic, a very professional performance, and I am happy.
“As soon as we concede a few chances, Crystal Palace played well and had chances, but in the end the most important thing is the three points.”
It has been a very good week for Pochettino. Palace proved a tricky tie and it took a special goal from Sonny to win it. They say the best teams win matches without playing well and we did that on top of injuries to key men. Let’s just hope we’ll have as many back as possible after the international break and those that are away come back unscathed.
