Pochettino loves Lamela’s commitment

Ryan Mason has said that manager Mauricio Pochettino loves Erik Lamela because he always gives his everything in matches.

Erik has had a tough time with injuries and personal problems while with Spurs, and returned from a year out of the game as a result of a hip injury earlier this season.

Mason was at the Spurs when Argentine forward arrived from Roma and has been left raving over both his talent and dedication to football, insisting that Lamela’s attitude is exactly why Pochettino keeps picking his fellow countryman.

Speaking on BBC 5 Live sport he said: “Coco’s (Lamela) one of these players, he loves football, I’ve never come across anyone in the game that loves the game as much as him.

Mason added: “The reason why the gaffer picks him is because one, he trusts him and two, Coco will never give anything less than 100 per cent. He’s got this ability to create a bit of brilliance.”

Lamela has a total of 141 appearances for Spurs since his arrival from Serie A back in 2013, and he’s scored 20 goals and chipped in with 36 assists.
