PSV plot move for Spurs misfit

PSV Eindhoven are plotting a move to bring Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen back to the Netherlands, according to Dutch daily newspaper Eindhoven Dagblad.

The Dutchman spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce and scored 5 goals from 17 games in all competitions. He had a low key start to life in the Premier League and went to Turkey to try and reclaim the form that persuaded Spurs to part with £17m a couple of summers ago

The report also claims that Janssen would be a replacement for fellow Dutch striker Luuk de Jong who has been heavily linked with a move to Mexican side Club America.

Janssen had a relatively poor debut season in English football scoring just 6 goals in 35 games and was loaned to Fenerbahce.

Hopes were high following the Dutchman’s arrival at Spurs after he scored 31 times in 49 games for AZ Alkmaar the season before he joined Spurs however he failed to retain any kind of form in his arrival in London.

Janssen’s sale does seem inevitable, especially with Fernando Llorente at the club (for how long is anyone’s guess) and Spurs long term goal of finding a capable understudy to Harry Kane.

Spurs will look to recoup the £17m they paid for Janssen but it will be difficult to recoup that kind of money from the Dutch side however Spurs will point to his relatively young age and his original scoring record in Dutch football.

Would you like to see him given another chance by Mauricio Pochettino or is his time at Spurs done and should Daniel Levy cut his losses on the former Az Alkmaar man
