Report: Bayern Munich showing interest in signing expensive Tottenham man

Bayern Munich are showing interest in taking Tottenham midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele on a loan deal this summer, according to Le10Sport.

The 23-year-old joined Spurs last summer for a club-record fee believed to be in the region of £54m (BBC) but has endured a tricky first season with the Lilywhites.

Having only featured twice from the bench since the restart of the Premier League following the COVID-19 lockdown, Ndombele’s future at Spurs remains under question (Transfermarkt).

Spanish giants, Barcelona have been linked with a move for the midfielder but Jose Mourinho insists that there are no problems with the Frenchman and he remains in the manager’s long-term plans (Mirror).

The German side, who beat Spurs twice in the 2019/20 Champions League, have reportedly shown interest as they look to replace the likes of Thiago, Javi Martinez and Corentin Tolisso.

However, Munich are also said to be looking at Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko who is currently out on loan at AS Monaco (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Although I do not want to see Ndombele leave, it has to be said if he is to leave it is unlikely Spurs would allow him to do so on a loan move. Given the current financial problems in the world and in football, it would make more sense for Spurs to claim back the money they spent on Ndombele rather than a season-long loan.
