Report: Spurs offer ‘lucrative’ deal to player out of contract this summer

Tottenham have made a firm offer to Chelsea’s Willian which includes a ‘lucrative contract and multi-million-pound signing-on fee’, according to Football Insider.

The report suggests that the Brazillian is one of Jose Mourinho’s top targets in the upcoming transfer window and the former Chelsea manager has personally held talks with the winger over a potential move to Spurs.

Willian is currently in the middle of a contract stalemate with the Blues and Spurs are hoping to make early moves to take advantage of his situation.

Mourinho worked with Willian during the Portuguese’s final spell with the Blues and the Brazilian is currently enjoying a rich vein of form since the Premier League restart.

However, as a potential free agent at the end of the season, Spurs are looking to tempt  Willian into jumping across London to N17 with their transfer budget limited.

Spurs Web Opinion

From a fan’s point of view, I do not want to see Willian at Spurs. He had his chance to join Spurs and dropped out at the last minute. Being honest, it proved the right decision as he has gone on to win numerous trophies but from a cynical point of view, it never feels right to sign players from our rivals.
