Report: Spurs reject Juventus swap deal involving star midfielder

Tottenham have rejected a swap deal with Juventus involving Tanguy Ndombele and ex-Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey, according to The Telegraph.

The Serie A champions were reportedly interested in Tottenham’s record signing but have been informed that the midfielder is still a part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

Aaron Ramsey was offered as part of the deal despite only joining the Italian giants last summer and having played for Spurs’ bitter North London rivals.

Ramsey left the Emirates Stadium for Juve on a free transfer and is on a reported £400k-per-week wage at the Allianz Stadium.

The Welshman has featured 18 times in the league for Juventus this season and, in those appearances, he has scored three times and provided one assist (Transfermarkt).

Despite only starting three games for Spurs since the turn of the year, it is believed that Mourinho still has Ndombele’s well within his long-term plans at Spurs.

I think a swap deal for Ramsey would be absolutely crazy. For a start, I personally want to see Ndombele given another shot. However, where would we even begin in negotiating with Ramsey in terms of wages – if he even wanted to join Spurs? This deal would make no sense at all.
