Rumour Mill: Door Open For Douglas Costa?

According to reports from The Sun, Bayern Munich are pondering a big money move to sign Chelsea’s Willian, which could see the door open for Tottenham target Douglas Costa to leave the Allianz Arena this Summer.

In an article written by HITC Sport, it is revealed that Willian’s lack of game-time at Chelsea could see Bayern Munich pounce on an opportunity to bolster their attacking options. However, this move could see the departure of fellow Brazilian midfielder Douglas Costa.

Should Bayern Munich decide to sell Costa, they would effectively make room for Willian in the squad as well as reimburse the reported £43 million required to bring in the 28 year old.

Douglas Costa was limited to 14 starts for Bayern in the Bundesliga, but still managed 4 goals and 3 assists. In all competitions, the versatile midfielder chipped in with 8 goals and 6 assists in 37 appearances. At 26 years old, Costa could be on the verge of hitting his prime form and would be the kind of player Tottenham need in their pursuit of silverware.

The Mirror have been reporting interest in Costa from the white side of North-London for quite some time now and reckon Spurs will need to front £30 million to persuade the German giants to sell.

Do you think we should buy Douglas Costa as our ‘marquee signing’? Or should we splash out on Thomas Lemar instead?
