Rumour Mill: Everton vs Tottenham Transfer Saga Round 2

£22 million rated centre-back Harry Maguire is reportedly a target in both the blue sides of North-London and Merseyside, according to The Mirror.

24 year old Harry Maguire has been Hull City’s shining light this season, garnering praise from pundits and professionals alike. However, following Hull’s relegation from the Premier League and manager Marco Silva jumping ships to Watford, the Englishman looks all set to leave the now Championship side, in the hopes of continuing his football in the top flight.

According to The Mirror, Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman are both big fans of the centre-back and are both likely to pursue a move for the want-away defender this Summer. Everton and Spurs were both showing interest in Michael Keane too, but Manchester United and Liverpool have emerged as leading parties for Keane’s signature.

Maguire is reported to be torn between the two clubs. Naturally, Tottenham will be able to use Champions League football to lure Maguire to North London, however, at Goodison Park, it is more likely Maguire will be able to break into the starting eleven as he would not have to be competing with the league’s best defence for places.

What do you think? Is this a good move, or is £22 million too much for a likely bench-warmer?
