Rumour Mill: Fee Agreed For Sanchez?

According to SkySources, Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a fee with Ajax of up to £40 million for 21 year old defender Davinson Sanchez.

Davinson Sanchez has been heavily linked with Spurs over the last few days, and due to speculation over his future with Dutch outfit Ajax, the Colombian missed their Eredivisie opening fixture against Heracles last weekend.

It had been reported that Ajax were trying to tempt the youngster to stay at the Amsterdam Arena with a new contract, however the versatile defender subsequently informed them he wanted to join Spurs.

Now, according to SkySources, Tottenham have had a bid accepted for the want-away 2016-17 Ajax Player of the Year, in a deal worth up to a whopping £40 million, a new record for Spurs.

Although rumoured to be a transfer target for both Barcelona and Inter Milan, Tottenham have always been overwhelming favourites to land the Colombian international ever since the rumours started circulating.

Additionally, SkySources have also suggested that, contrary to yesterday’s reports, no bids have yet been made for Austrian centre-back Kevin Wimmer, who is likely to find a new club this Summer.

Confirmation of Sanchez’s transfer to Spurs is expected over the next few days and would feasibly pave the way for Wimmer’s exit.
