Rumour Mill: Sanchez Wants Spurs Move?

According to The Independent, Tottenham transfer target Davinson Sanchez has notified current club Ajax that he wants to join Spurs despite the Dutch outfit’s attempts to keep the defender in Holland next season.

Well, Poch promised us all a late flurry of transfer activity, and now after months of almost nothing but speculation, here come the transfer updates thick and fast.

Recently, it had been reported that Ajax had been urging 21 year old defender Davinson Sanchez to stay at the club amidst mutual transfer interest from Tottenham.

Ajax Sporting Director Marc Overmars had even owned up to offering the young Colombian international a new and improved contract after just 1 year in the Eredivisie.

However today, according to The Independent, Sanchez is rumoured to have rejected Ajax’s attempts to lure the youngster into a contract extension by instead telling them that he wants to join Spurs.

The article also stated that last year Sanchez rejected a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, due to concerns over potential game-time opportunities.

Despite being unlikely to disrupt the current centre-back partnership of Toby and Jan and Spurs, Sanchez is seemingly dead set on a move to Tottenham, which suggests a slight change of tactic might be on the cards if the Colombian does in fact sign.

How do you think this will play out? With the player pushing for a move, do you think Spurs will still have to spend big? And do you think we may have to shift to a permanent back three to accommodate Sanchez?
