Rumour Mill: Spurs Launch Two Enquiries?

According to SkySources, Spurs have launched enquiries over the possibility of signing not just one, but two new defenders, in addition to Davinson Sanchez who is already expected to complete his move to Spurs in the next few days.

Earlier in the window, Tottenham were heavily linked with a move for Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth, who appeared to be available for roughly £8 million.

However, Spurs eventually ended their interest in the young Argentine, with Tottenham reportedly put off by the club’s demands of an un-front payment of £8 million, as opposed to Tottenham’s desire to pay £5.4 million in one go, before adding the remaining £2.6 million in bonuses.

Now, according to SkySources, Tottenham have re-opened their interest in the 19 year old, despite speculation suggesting the defender was close to sealing a move to Paris-Saint Germain.

Sticking with PSG, Tottenham have also enquired into the possibility of signing out-of-favour right-back Serge Aurier, who appears to have slipped low down in the pecking order at the Parc Des Princes.

Reports from French outlet L’Equipe have already suggested that the 24 year old would be very open to the move and that personal terms have formerly been agreed with a number of interested clubs.

UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations are expected to influence PSG’s likelihood to sell, given the recent spending spree at the club, not to mention Aurier’s eagerness to leave France this Summer.

L’Equipe also reckon PSG will settle for £23 million for the Ivorian full-back, which is just under half the amount Spurs raked in for the sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
