Rumour Mill: Spurs Making King Approach?

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a bid for 25 year old Bournemouth striker Josh King.

The South-coast club has been busy spending lately, bringing in ‘keeper Asmir Begovic for £10 million and Nathan Ake from Chelsea for a reported £20 million, a record for the club.

Also announced recently, was Jermain Defoe’s arrival, and although the 34 year old joined on a free transfer from Sunderland, the experienced goal-scorer is expected to earn to a high wage and provide tough competition for places up front.

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham will be looking to offer Bournemouth the chance to recoup some of their millions in a surprise move for striker Josh King.

King scored an impressive 16 goals in the Premier League last season and Tottenham’s need for depth in attack has been emphasised by injuries to forwards Heung-Min Son and Erik Lamela.

King’s versatility will be useful to Mauricio Pochettino, as the striker is capable of leading the line and playing with a partner and the 25 year old already previously revealed he was ‘intrigued’ by the rumours linking him with a move to Spurs.

Apparently, Bournemouth will demand up to £30 million for King’s services, which sounds beyond excessive to me. I wouldn’t pay over £15 million for King, and in all honesty, I’m tempted to just stick with Janssen. What do you think?
