Rumour Mill: Spurs Priced Out of the Race?

According to 101GreatGoals.com, Liverpool and Tottenham are both set to miss out on the signing of Piotr Zielinski this Summer, due to Napoli pricing the 23 year old out of the market.

The months leading up to the Summer transfer window are always an elaborate maze of mis-information. So far, Spurs have been linked to about 30 or 40 different players, most of which we’ve never heard about more than once.

The latest name to be tagged along-side Tottenham’s is that of Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who’s apparently a figure of interest at both Spurs and Liverpool.

However, in spite of the reported £25 million that both English clubs evaluate the player to be worth, Napoli will apparently only consider selling for a fee closer to £60 million.

According to The Guardian, Zielinski has a release clause of £61 million, which the Italian side would seek to rake in if the Polish play-maker was sold.

The attacking midfielder scored 6 goals in 47 appearances last season, chipping in with a further 7 assists for Napoli in all competitions.

Obviously, £60 million is a ridiculous fee to pay for any player who isn’t world class. So, it appears that if ever there was any Spurs interest in this player, there certainly won’t be anymore.

With £60 million, you could buy Ryan Sessegnon, Ross Barkley and Joel Veltman, with about £7 million spare. But how would you spend £60 million for Spurs next season?
