Rumour Mill: Tottenham’s Two Main Targets

According to SkySports, Tottenham’s two main transfer targets this Summer are Everton’s Ross Barkley and AC Milan’s Suso.

After much speculation, Spurs have been linked with nearly every player in Europe and beyond, but now it seems we all have something in the way of confirmation as to who Spurs really have interest in.

Recently, it was revealed that Tottenham were to play a waiting game for England international Ross Barkley, who looks set to leave Goodison Park this Summer.

Spurs seem likely to play a dangerous tactic in the upcoming transfer window, aiming to wait for the £50 million price-tag placed on the play-maker by the Everton hierarchy to drop considerably before the transfer deadline on the 31st of August.

According to The Mirror, in addition to this, Spurs are determined to prise 23 year old creative midfielder Suso away from AC Milan.

With just 2 years left on his contract in Italy, Suso has raised many a question mark around his future at the San Siro, having already rejected a new contract offer from the club.

Though Spurs had been heavily linked with a big money move for Monaco sensation Thomas Lemar, according to The Mirror, Spurs have been forced to pull out of a potential deal in light of Arsenal’s rejected bid of £31 million.

Apparently, Tottenham do not want to be drawn into an auction in which they could be forced to pay up to £40 million for Lemar’s services, which now leaves Arsenal as favourites for the 21 year old’s signature.

This is not particularly surprising, as it has been asserted numerous times that Tottenham are unable to compete with their richer rivals under these circumstances.

Do you think Barkley and Suso would be good signings, or would you rather see Spurs splash out on one memorable signing like Lemar?
