The article goes on to say how the 20-year-old made a dream debut on the opening weekend of the season when he was man-of-the-match in the victory over Newcastle, adding how he also came off the bench against Huddersfield in the Prem – but his other matches have been in cups or Europe.

He was rewarded for breaking into the first team squad this season with a new deal to keep him at Spurs until 2020.

The defender of course started the FA Cup draw at Newport as a left wing-back but was substituted at half-time in a tactical change as we chased the game.
