Mauricio Pochettino is open to the prospect of a reunion with Manchester United defender Luke Shaw in the January transfer window according to an article by Independent.ie
Throughout the last few weeks Shaw has been heavily linked with a move to Hotspur Way and the article adds that United are eager to sign unsettled full-back Danny Rose.
The article adds that Shaw views Pochettino as his mentor after they built up a strong working relationship during their time together at Southampton and he recently contributed to a tribute to his former boss in a book written by author Guillem Balagué.
It adds that It now appears Shaw is about to be presented with a chance to relaunch his career with Pochettino, with the defender who has started just three Premier League games for United throughout 2017, finally deciding he is fighting a losing battle in his bid to get back into manager Jose Mourinho’s plans.
It says that a reunion with Pochettino would appear to be the best option for all parties, however it does say that one possible stumbling block is that Shaw would need to take a big pay cut to fit in with our wage structure if he was to swap Manchester for north London in January.
A fit Shaw is a terrific addition but his injury record is so suspect. It would be a risk, but could be a master stroke
