Sherwood: Hull point could be very important

Tim Sherwood labelled Tottenham’s draw at Hull City as what could be an “important” point come the end of the season.

On paper it is a game we should be winning, but frustratingly we have missed yet another opportunity to close the gap on the Champions League pack.

“I expected it to be tough. We’ve seen some top teams come here and struggle this season. They’re very capable,” said Sherwood to the press after the match at the KC Stadium.

“But one thing was certain today: if we weren’t going to win, we certainly weren’t going to lose.

“At the end of the season this could turn out to be a very important point for both sides.

“It was a poor start to the game for us, to concede so early, but I wasn’t panicking. There was plenty of time and we grew into it.

“In the latter part of the first half and then the second half we started to dominate, we rolled the ball into (Emmanuel) Adebayor and (Roberto) Soldado in and around the box and looked like we were going to score.”

  1. "could be an important point" Important 2 points dropped. absolutely woeful performance. So many players having bad/average games yet Sherwood does not make any substitutions until the 89th minute and only then because Ade picked up a knock. Soldado was terrible, Lennon barely sighted, Rose cant defend, we need a proper left back. When Hull scored he could have cleared the ball before it was put through to Long if he used his right foot but tried to use his left. The amount of times we gave the ball away, or missed passes from only a few metres was laughable. Was like watching a Sunday morning league team not full time professionals who are payed extravagant wages. Not sure TS is the man to take us forward in the long run. Hoping Van Gaal fancies a crack at PL. COYS
