Signing Pulisic would boost Spurs American market credentials

Spurs have been linked with Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund and an article in The Express says the move would be to boost the clubs stance in the American Market according to the opinion of ESPN pundit and former Arsenal striker Paul Mariner.

Pulisic has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Liverpool and Spurs are rumoured to be interested in the 19-year-old winger and Mariner reckons it could be a wise piece of business for Spurs, with their new stadium set to host NFL games once it has opened.

But Mariner believes Pulisic should stay at Dortmund for the time being at least, because he would not be a starter at Spurs yet.

“I think he is fine where he is, but having said that, you look at (Daniel) Levy, he’s looking to get NFL games in at his new stadium, he’s trying to look at the American market,”:Mariner said.
“How many millions of shirts will they sell? So there’s a business side of this. There’s a playing side and a business side of this.
“I’m sure (Mauricio) Pochettino obviously would love to have him alongside him.

Mariner added: “There’s two things coming into play here. There’s the business side and there’s the football side, the football squad side.I’m going to say stay where you are mate, just for another year.
