Slow starts a big problem for Spurs says MOTD pundit

Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer has revealed why he thinks Tottenham are struggling for form.

We again stumbled on Saturday, with a 1-1 draw against Watford on Saturday which made it just one win in our last six Premier League games.

We now sit 15 points behind leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand, and speaking last midget Shearer had put it down to our slow starts to games.

Former Newcastle and England forward Shearer said: “It’s alright playing in the glory games in the Champions League, Real Madrid home and away and getting a result, but in the bread and butter games in the Premier League they have started so slowly.

“If you start games slowly in the Premier League you get punished.
You go behind last week to West Brom. You go behind to Leicester. And you go behind to Watford.

He added “They are starting slow and they can’t get it back. It’s just too much. They are missing Toby Alderweireld but that’s not an excuse for the way they’re starting games.”

”They’re not up for it for the first 20 or 25 minutes.Dele Alli I thought was poor again, sloppy. From a Spurs point of view, you can’t just turn up for the big games. You’ve got to turn up against the so-called smaller team”

Shearer concluded “That’s why Tottenham won’t win the league.”
