Tottenham have completed the signing of Burnley defender Kieran Trippier on a five-year contract.

The 24-year-old right-back, who is believed to have had a £3.5million release clause, leaves Turf Moor after four years.

“When I first heard that the club was interested I didn’t have to think twice,” he told tottenhamhotspur.com.

“It’s such a big club and now I just can’t wait to get started and show everyone what I can do.

“I’ll take every opportunity I get with both hands and hopefully play my part for everyone at the club.

“Whenever I get a chance, I want to do well for the other players, the staff and, of course, the fans.”

  1. He's a keen, hardworking, level-headed, talented, young player. He'll do a good job for us at RB. Welcome to Spurs, Kieran!

  2. Excellent signing at a bargain price. I would like to see Walker have a go at playing right wing. I don't think anyone else who has played there is any better.

  3. I've been wondering for awhile if the Yedlin signing wasn't with an eye for converting him form D to winger – a la Bale. What better way to upgrade value (maybe x3)? This signing suggests to me that the gaffer has either given up on Yed as a flex speedy O/D-man or has found him talented enough in the winger category that he needs to reinforce in a newly shallow Right back category.
