Spurs defender keeping a close eye on World Cup colleagues

Ben Davies will be a keeling a close eye on the exploits of our 12 players at the World Cup.

The left-back missed out on qualification for the showpiece with Wales late last year and is enjoying a well-earned break.

Speaking to the clubs media Ben is excited to see how his club team-mates perform with the eyes of the world upon them.

“The World Cup is another chance for some of our boys to show how good they are on the biggest stage,” :he said.”There is a lot of quality in our team at Spurs and I’m sure the players are going to take that quality into their national teams and do really well this summer.”

Davies is looking forward to seeing how his defensive colleagues get on, having linked up with them to great effect as we secured a third consecutive top three finish during the recently-concluded campaign.

He added: “The likes of Jan (Vertonghen) and Hugo (Lloris) have been a model of consistency and have been great for us this year,Everyone has had their good periods but Jan has been superb. He’s great to play next to, he’s a top, top player and I think we have a great partnership out there on the left-hand side. He seems to be getting better and better and it’s credit to him for his hard work.

He went on to say: “Davinson (Sanchez) has been superb for us too. The Premier League is not easy and a lot of players find it tough to come into it, but he’s made it look quite simple. He’s really fitted in well and has done superbly for us this year.”
