Spurs eye Napoli youngster

According to an exclusive by Italian publication Calcio Napoli 24,Spurs are preparing to offer £33million for Napoli’s African midfielder Amadou Diawara.

Mauricio Pochettino has spoken in recent weeks hinting that their will be no new arrivals at Hotspur Way and that is so far that’s been the case however as we know Mousa Dembele is struggling for form and fitness typified by his erratic performance against Southampton and finding somebody who can play his role in midfield, somebody who can make those powerful runs up and down the middle of the park while retaining the ball and lend support to the attack to open up the game looks increasingly necessary.

Now, an exclusive report from Calcio Napoli 24 claims that we are are interested in Diawara, and could secure his services for a aound £33million.

The article claims that the club enquired about Diawara in 2017, but were immediately rebuffed by Napoli.

Diawara, 20, had one full season at Bologna before being snapped up by Napoli in the summer of 2016 and the Guinean star – who has been touted as a future Italian international – has excelled under coach Maurizio Sarri, and the article claims Spurs now appear to be taking a strong interest in him as they consider life after Dembele.

The article concludes by say Diawara has shown that he can play in a similar box-to-box role as Dembele with one criticism being, and not unlike the Belgian, he doesn’t score enough having just one senior goal to his name.
