Spurs face Bayern battle for France defender

Spurs will face a huge battle if they want to sign target Benjamin Pavard – but not until 2019, according to SportBild.

The article,quoted by talkSPORT, says Bayern Munich will rival Spurs for Stuttgart’s French defender, who has grown into the World Cup and scored a wondergoal against Argentina in the round of 16.

The article says that any possibility of a transfer is off the table this summer but he will be available for €35million next summer, adding that Bayern’s transfer committee plotting the move already.

The powers that be at Bayern Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Uli Hoeness, and Hasan Salihamidzic all believe the youngster is the perfect signing for the club as they invest in younger players.

Pavard, 22 joined Stuttgart two years ago when they were in the German second division, and has seen stock rise this summer with some eye catching displays in Russia for France 

He is a versatile defender, capable of playing as right-back, or centre-back, and helped Stuttgart become champions in his first season and last term was one of only four players to feature in every Bundesliga game for his club.
