Spurs face Nice striker battle

German side Borussia Monchengladbach and Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly need to spend a sum of €30m if they are to acquire Alassane Plea from Nice in the coming weeks.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the striker, who intends to leave Nice this summer as have Monchengladbach and according to claims from Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, they are in a four-team race with other Premier League clubs for Plea’s signature ahead of next season.

However it is claimed that potential suitors will be forced to part with a club-record fee of €30m, though, if they are to lure Plea away from Nice, as a summer departure from France appears to be on the cards.

The striker enjoyed a strong season under Lucien Favre last term scoring an impressive total of 20 goals in all competitions. And with both Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente failing at Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino is in need of an able deputy for Harry Kane
