Spurs must focus on West Brom insists Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has warned his Tottenham players against complacency and not to rest on their laurels after securing top spot in their Champions League group according to The London Evening Standard.

Tuesday’a 2-1 victory in Dortmund guaranteed that we will be among the seeds for next month’s knockout stage draw as we will finish top of Group H.

The article adds that European commitments now take a back seat until the new year Spurs must now focus on the battle to ensure they are back in the Champions League next season after two defeats in our last three games.

We welcome managerless West Brom to Wembley at the start of a run of six games from which the article says Pochettino would be entitled to expect maximum points.

But he has warned his players that celebrations for a remarkable group stage that has seen us go unbeaten against Dortmund and Real Madrid must end.

“Look, for us, it’s finished now this game,” Pochettino said. “We need to take the game in this way.
“No-one will remember what happened in the past, for us it’s to look forward, try to be ready for Saturday, a massive game for us against West Brom.
“Happy for the result, to be top of the table, first, but we’re looking forward to playing the next game.”

Wise words from Pochettino, how the baggies players will respond to Pulis’ departure is anyone’s guess, but it’s a match that we must win.
