Barcelona want to sell Spurs target Andre Gomes this summer.

The Portuguese midfielder moved to the Nou Camp in 2016 from Valencia and big things were expected of him, however has failed to sparkle for Barca and has been linked with a move away for the best part of a year.

We tried to set up a loan deal for Gomes last summer, while West Ham made an enquiry in January and according to AS n clubs will be on red alert as Barcelona are finally ready to sell the 24-year-old this summer.

The Spanish giants are reportedly ready to cash in on Gomes so they can use the funds to bolster other areas of the squad.

  1. Hope Spurs brass use a little more common sense than to try and sign another midfielder who has underwhelmed elsewhere. If we are indeed looking for midfield talent then perhaps the smartest (but not cheapest) move is to bring in proven quality. Buying high priced “cast offs” has not proven viable. Gomes is not
in the same class as Moura who has shown excellent ability playing at the highest level.
Currently we are being bombarded with stories of how one or the other of our talented team are leaving for
Real Madrid, Man Utd., Liverpool or other points. There seems to be a consistent attempt to undermine what
Spurs are building. Buying second rate talent does not help.
