Spurs Release Six

Spurs have announced six player releases today, including 21 year old Slovak Filip Lesniak.

Tottenham Hotspur announced on the official club website that five players have been released form the club, following the expiry of their contracts.

Tom McDermott, Joe Muscatt, Charlie Owens, Zenon Stylianides and Filip Lesniak are the five players now searching for a new club.

Defensive midfielder Filip Lesniak, who earned an assist in his 7 minute debut during Tottenham’s 6-1 demolition of Leicester City, was hoping to prove his worth at Tottenham over the Summer.

However, it appears the young Slovak has failed to impress the senior management at Spurs and has subsequently failed to earn himself a renewed contract with the club.

One second-year academy prospect has also been released. The club stated:

“The Club can confirm the departures of Development Squad players Filip Lesniak, Tom McDermott, Joe Muscatt, Charlie Owens and Zenon Stylianides following the conclusion of their contracts.”

“Second-year Academy player Juan Pablo Gonzalez-Velasco has also been released.”

“We wish them all the best for the future.”

Are you sad to see Filip Lesniak go? Or do you think it was the right decision?
