Gareth Bale should be targeted by Tottenham this summer for sensational return to north London, according to club hero Paul Miller.
Spurs have impressed under Mauricio Pochettino especially considering the clubs much smaller budget than that of their rivals but Miller says his former club don’t need to go mad in the transfer market.
Our ex centre half wants Pochettino to prioritise quality over quantity – and that could include a stunning raid for Bale.
He told LoveSport radio: “We don’t need 5 or 6 players, we need 2 or 3 good ones, quality ones. And I’m sure that’s what they’ve got their eye on.We need another centre-back, we need another midfield player.
We need someone big. Riyad Mahrez, Wilfried Zaha, Anthony Martial, they’ve all been mentioned. Even Gareth Bale coming back.We need to sign someone like that.”
The article goes on to say that Pochettino is also expected to add to his options in attack but has seen recent acquisitions Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente underwhelm in the support role to Kane
Miller added: “It’s not about replacing Harry, it’s playing with him, alongside him.But where that comes from I don’t know.Of course, we need another striker, that goes without saying.”
